Easter Bunny

Can it really be April? I'm just a tad bit behind these days. We've been battling yet another virus in the Bateman household this week, and had to take Jace back to the Dr. yesterday for about the 4th time in less than two months. We asked if we could get the "Gold Member" discount :). The good news is that Jace is on the mend. Hopefully the sunny weather we had today will send those germs packing for good. So, here are a few pics from our Easter weekend in Vale. We had a fun time Saturday at the Firemen's Annual Steak & Crab feed. We even
got to see Gary & Margie and visit for awhile. Jace had a great time at Gamma and Papas and fun at Grandma Clarice's looking for Easter Eggs in the annual Hawley Easter Egg Hunt (not to mention those Hawley Dollies are CUTE!). Gamma got him a car and a shovel for Easter, so we are constantly wanting to play with "my car" and "my shovel" at Gamma's. We're not spoiled ;)! It is branding season, so Jace and Mark will be headed back to Vale this weekend. Mark spent last weekend branding as well.....so he's in heaven. I think I have a hot date with Turbo Tax this weekend. Lucky me!

Think Spring!

Mmmmmm.....SNOW!

Ok...so it finally happened...Spring is officially here! I am so looking forward to the longer days and being able to get outside. I think the long hours in my "mole hole" at work are starting to take their toll. Everyday Jace comes home from daycare and tells Mark, "outside". I called home before I left the office to hear Jace crying in the background and Mark a little short on the phone. I asked Mark what was wrong....to which he replied, "Someone wants to go O-U-T-S-I-D-E, but it is R-A-I-N-ing......here Jace, talk to Mama....". So needless to say, we're all wishing for some more cooperative weather.

This week has been one I'd like to soon be done with. My work laptop died Monday a.m., so that was not a great way to start it off. How did people ever "work" in an office before the computer that's what I want to know? I never have felt so useless in my life as the last couple of days without a PC.

Well, since I'm way behind on the Jace pics and updates I thought I would share a few from this winter. We had a lot of snow, and was it ever fun! I'd like to point out too that I shoveled more snow in a few weeks than I have in the entire 12 years I've lived over here. And might I add that I shoveled wayyyyyyyyyy more snow than Mark! How does that work? Anyway, we all had a great time with the snow, especially Jace so here are a few pics to enjoy.

Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be Cowboys...

Can you believe it!? Jace is 22 months old! I wouldn't believe it except for the 30 pound, giggling bundle of energy we have running around the house, who's favorite words of the week are "Oh no!" and "horsey". Mark and I are quickly learning that you have to be VERY careful what you say. I dropped something the other day, and out came "shoot"....only to be translated the way a 22 month can to something vaguely close to the real deal. Oops!

Jace is literally on the go at all times, except for occassional 5 minute stints of coloring or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...our favorite indoor activities. I am so glad the weather is finally warming up as he prefers to be outside riding his tractor, playing fetch with the dogs, or roping the Jakesteer with Daddy (I know...what the heck is a Jakesteer?).

What!? A blog??

Ok...so I'm definitely not going to win any points for creativity, but I'm hoping to at least win some for trying something new! I was typing an email update, and got to thinking...I really need to take a shot at this whole "blog" thing (thanks Jen - you were my inspiration!). So, now that I've got that explanation out of the way. I hope you enjoy it and I promise to make an effort to update more often than once every 3 months (let's be honest...6 months).
